Invisalign Glen Waverley: I have a large genetic gap between my two front teeth. Would using the Invisalign help or should I get braces?

I have a large genetic gap between my two front teeth. Would using the Invisalign help or should I get braces?
My mom and 2 of my sisters had a large gap between their two front teeth and I have had the biggest out of us all. I saw the commercials for Invisalign and I was wondering if anyone had the same problem and could give me some advice or if they knew if this could work for me. If not, would braces help?? I am 14 and I do not want braces in my future pictures, but I want to be able to smile and actually SHOW my teeth. Can anyone help?

Answer
The invisalign might not be able to create enough force to close the gap, but you'd have to talk to an orthodontist to make sure. It also depends on the source of your gap. If the muscle attachment in between your teeth and lip is too short, it could be the cause of the gap. In that case, you would need a minor surgery first before getting braces.

Invisalign may help push your teeth closer together, probably just as effectively as braces but without the annoyance of real braces. talk to your mom, make an appointment with an orthodontist (many offer free or cheap consultations) and see what your best options are. (source: Yahoo! Answers)
